The Terminal | Birmingham's hub: Looks like we got two right…

Birmingham is incredibly lucky to get acts like these. I mean really, the Flaming Lips?! They put on the BEST live show!

Lucky? Many of these acts have played Birmingham before, so I'm not sure how much luck is involved.

You can see them play (for free) on my site.

I tired of hearing people hate on City Stages. I'm excited about the acts! Lots I want to see and hopefully, I'll discover some new music too. Even if I didn't see any act that appealed to me, I'd be going to the festival. It takes everyone's support to keep it going or there won't be a festival for folks to complain about next year.

And Wade, don't you want to come dance at the Dance Depot with W?

I have it on good authority that Gnarls Barkley is still a very good possibility for playing Saturday night after the Roots...

Watch out for the next announcement coming Sunday. Good stuff people.

"I’m excited about the acts! Lots I want to see and hopefully, I’ll discover some new music too."

That's the way i feel too christina. i can't wait to experience new music and not stuff that i hear on the radio every day.

James Tiger, good stuff was indeed added today. I cannot believe Andrew Bird will be there, and my boyfriend is excited about Alejandro Escovedo. It's going to be a great weekend!

Mary, good post. i'm thrilled to hear andrew bird and alejandro for the first time ever. i just did a little research on both and they look like the type of acts that satiate my musical palate. good recommendations. thanks.

even better, from what i heard, there are even more additions to come.

lots of rumors floating around per a late-night conversation i overheard this past weekend at an unnamed location in which names like - ambulance ltd, Jamiroquai, bruce hornsby, and wu-tang were mentioned. i hate stealing "thoughts" from other peoples conversations, but it was impossible not to hear. and i was somewhat mesmerized by what this person had to say.

I've always held out hope for a steely dan appearance, never played city stages as far as i know.

anyways, i'm more excited about city stages this year than i have been in since i moved to birmingham, which was 1997. 11 years ago.

Wu-tang... I would totally go to that lol. And Steely Dan would just make my day. We were hoping for a My Morning Jacket addition but I think Ben Harper took their spot, which is fine.

"i’m more excited about city stages this year than i have been in since i moved to birmingham"
I was saying the exact same thing yesterday except I didn't move here until 2004, so yeah... never ever been excited about City Stages until this year.
